NEW SONGS, NEW ROADS

Summer has a way of arriving all at once and leaving before we quite realize it. Now, as the season begins to turn, I find myself falling into fall—and, in many ways, falling into the future.

Before looking too far ahead, I want to pause and offer my gratitude to everyone who welcomed me and allowed me to share my music this summer. The road carried me across Ontario, from my new hometown of Elora to Massie, Lion’s Head, Port Elgin, Whitevale, and Flesherton. It also carried the songs into cyberspace, where music continues to connect us across distances that might otherwise keep us apart.

Every community offered something different: a room, a porch, a gathering place, a familiar face, or a first meeting. Wherever the songs were heard, I was reminded again that a concert is never only about the person standing at the microphone. It is created by everyone who listens, welcomes, organizes, encourages, and helps make a space where music can live.

Thank you to the presenters, hosts, fellow musicians, volunteers, friends, and audience members who made these performances possible. Thank you to those who travelled to a show, stayed to talk after the final song, shared a kind word, or listened online. Your generosity has meant more than I can easily say.

There are still a few notes left in this season. I have shows coming up in Hamilton and Toronto, and I’m looking forward to those final Ontario gatherings before the touring year grows quiet. Current details and updates can be found on the SHOWS page.

After that, I will be stepping away from performing during November and December. It will not exactly be time off. I’ll be returning to the slower, more private work of songwriting and continuing to develop a new album. Songs often reveal themselves in their own time, and I’m looking forward to giving them the patience and attention they need.

Then, in January, the road opens again. I’ll be beginning a Vancouver Island tour, carrying some familiar songs west and, I hope, bringing a few new ones with me. Dates and details will be added as plans take shape.

For now, I’m grateful for the summer that was, for the remaining concerts still ahead, and for the creative season waiting just beyond them. Music keeps asking us to listen—to one another, to the world around us, and sometimes to the quiet voice that points toward what comes next.

Thank you for listening, for supporting independent music, and for sharing the road with me. Wherever you have joined me—in Elora, Massie, Lion’s Head, Port Elgin, Whitevale, Flesherton, or somewhere out there in cyberspace—you have been part of this journey.

May the changing season bring you moments of beauty, reflection, and renewal. I hope our paths cross again, somewhere along the road.
